    3012 AD depicts a time after the destruction of humanity when life forms are gradually beginning to evolve. Walking on the soft leaf strewn earth of a convalescent world covered with the remains of vanished species, the young heroine has a forlorn sense of having “arrived too late”; yet she is also filled with new premonitions and new hopes. The three paintings on display here are night scenes set on vast waters, magical light shining on the lotus leaf boat, the girl drifting calmly, safe in the moment. The spatio-temporal aesthetic of these paintings relates them to modern times as a kind of dim remembrance of the future lives, the time between them finding “humans in pain because they cannot love.”
