Art Reflections
When I¡¯m painting I often feel that I am drifting through a shifting, alternating space, and trying to capture a fleeting image. I encounter fleeting words, unexpected images, and illuminated scenes that are seemingly familiar, yet suddenly strange. They are here then gone again, and there is nothing to lead me on my way. Some of them give people strength; others bring back memories; still others are obscure. These are the ones that I see as real, and that construct a welcoming world full of hope. This is how I experience art; if art didn¡¯t have these things I don¡¯t know what it would have. I can¡¯t stand things that are too direct; if there aren¡¯t shadows under the sun, then it seems to me that something must be wrong.
